Our Wedding Keepsake Collection

Are you looking for a unique and meaningful way to include a loved one, who has passed away, in your upcoming wedding celebrations? Have a look at this custom order we created recently. 

This beautiful wedding dress was worn by our client’s mother in the 1970’s. She sadly passed away in the year leading up to her son’s wedding, so he and his partner got in touch to have something special created from her dress, as a way to include and honour his mother in their celebrations.

After discussing their needs and preferences, I set about sketching up some designs. The dress was made in Ireland from a crepe like fabric, very simple and elegant, with some beautiful little details which we were eager to feature in the finished keepsakes.

We created two heart shaped cushions, with loops so they could be carried easily, for the flower girls. We made flowers from the same dress material for each cushion, and included some of the smaller flowers from the belt of the dress. We also embroidered a special message from their Gran.

For the Groom and his father, we made them a handkerchief, or pocket square, each from the dress material and added a little embroidered message and a flower detail also from the belt of the wedding dress.

Finally, we created the Ring Pillow. This was made using the bodice of the dress as the main feature. We used the original lace and ruffles all around the edge of the cushion, and created a flower with a bow in the centre to allow their wedding rings to nestle in there all safe and secure. This keepsake also had a little embroidered message included, along with their wedding date.
